Exhibition: Wir sind an Bord by Manette Fusenig
Luxembourgish artist Manette Fusenig presents an installation at the Museum of Resistance composed of objects folded in the form of paper boats. These ships are made of old school maps with portraits painted on them, folded in the shape of boats and floating above the heads of visitors. The passengers’ gaze and the visitor’s intersect. They look at us and we look back at them – without knowing whom they are and where they are from or where they are going.
The blue and brown eyes, the light and dark skins are on the same fragile boats exposed to the elements of the globe. Are they travelers, migrants or refugees going to Europe in their little walnut shell?
